Admissions FAQ
Everything families ask us before, during and after applying to Danish Virtual School.
Understanding the school
Danish Virtual School (DVS) is a fully online international school. Unlike video platforms or tutoring services, DVS is a structured institution: students have a fixed timetable, attend live classes with qualified specialist teachers, submit weekly homework and sit formal assessments. Attendance registers are taken every period and parents receive real-time visibility through a dedicated portal.
DVS is a school. It operates with a formal timetable, academic records, report cards, formal assessments and a safeguarding policy. It is not a tutoring service — there are no ad-hoc single-subject bookings. Students enrol in a year group and attend as they would a physical school.
DVS is fully online with no physical campus. The administrative team is based in Pakistan. Students can enrol from anywhere in the world — the only requirements are a device, a stable internet connection and the ability to attend live classes during the published timetable.
Classes are timetabled in Pakistan Standard Time (PKT, UTC+5). Families in Europe, the Gulf, South Asia and East Africa typically fall within manageable time-zone windows. Families further afield should discuss their specific situation with our admissions team before enrolling.
Applying to DVS
Admissions are open year-round. DVS understands that mobile families relocate mid-year and cannot always wait for a traditional September intake. Applications received by mid-month can typically begin the following month, subject to available class spaces.
You will need: the student's most recent school report or transcript (2 most recent terms), a copy of the student's passport or national ID, a completed DVS application form and the registration fee payment. Students entering Grade 9 or above may be asked to sit a brief subject placement assessment.
Applications are reviewed within 2 working days of all documents being received. Once approved, enrolment is confirmed and portal access is granted within 24 hours. The complete process from application to first class is typically under one week.
DVS maintains a maximum of 15 students per class. In popular year groups and term starts, spaces may fill ahead of the intake date. We recommend applying at least 3 weeks before your intended start date to guarantee a confirmed place.
Curriculum, classes and assessments
DVS offers two pathways: the International British stream leading to O Level and Cambridge IGCSE examinations, and the Pakistani Matriculation (SSC) stream aligned to FBISE and provincial board syllabuses. The curriculum pathway is selected at enrolment and can be discussed with an admissions counsellor.
Students in Primary school attend approximately 18–22 live class hours per week. Middle and Secondary school students attend 22–28 hours, depending on their subject selections. The timetable is published each term and parents receive a copy via the portal.
All classes are recorded and uploaded to the student portal within 2 hours of class end. A student who misses a class for a legitimate reason can watch the recording and must submit any work set during that class. Parents are notified of an unexcused absence the same day.
Homework is set weekly and submitted via the student portal. Assessment includes weekly homework, chapter tests, mid-term examinations and final term examinations. All submitted work is marked with written feedback within 5 working days and results are visible to both students and parents in the portal.
Fees and payments
The complete DVS fee structure is published on the Fees page. Fees vary by year group and curriculum pathway. There are no hidden charges — the published fee is the total monthly commitment.
Invoices are issued on the 1st of every calendar month via the parent portal. There is a 7-day grace period before a late-payment notice is generated. Payments can be made by bank transfer, debit/credit card, JazzCash or Easypaisa wallet. Receipts are generated instantly upon payment confirmation.
DVS offers a 10% sibling discount on the second and subsequent enrolled children from the same household. The discount is applied automatically from the second month of enrolment and appears on your invoice. Contact admissions to register siblings under the same family account.
Tech setup and access
Minimum: a laptop or tablet (2018 or newer), Chrome or Firefox browser, and a stable internet connection of at least 5 Mbps download. A webcam and microphone are required for live classes. A full hardware requirements table is available on the Technology page.
No software installation is required. The DVS portal and virtual classroom both run entirely in the web browser. All you need is Chrome (recommended) or Firefox and a stable internet connection.
All new students receive a technology onboarding session within 48 hours of enrolment. Ongoing technical issues are handled via the portal helpdesk during school hours. Our team targets a 4-hour resolution time on all technical support tickets raised on school days.
